Coaching Career Overview:
Shimona Draper is in her 1st year as a coach at LEAD Performance. She returned, Fall 2024 after completing her internship at LEAD in Summer 2023. She is a former Division 1 Track and Field athlete at Cal Poly SLO.
Currently she coaches at two gyms, LEAD Athletic Performance and Woodworks Fitness & Recovery. Over her coaching career, she has developed a reputation for not only helping athletes improve their athletic performance but caring for the emotional and mental state as a human. She has a deep passion for helping both athletes and adults navigate the gym on their way to their athletic and fitness goals.

Shimona emphasizes building strength for performance and fostering mental resilience, helping athletes believe in their ability to improve and grow stronger in their sport. She values effort and a commitment to self-improvement, encouraging athletes to push their limits. Shimona cultivates a positive culture rooted in trust and communication, where athletes feel comfortable expressing themselves and confident in voicing their needs, allowing them to thrive in and out of their sport.

Notable Achievements:

In Division 1 Track Shimona scored points in the Big West conference in the heptathlon and 400 meter hurdles. Helped her team win Big West Conference Championship in 2021​

Is 2nd all time in Oak Ridge HS history in 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles

Is 3rd all time in Oak Ridge HS history in 400m hurdles

Was a member of the Oak Ridge Ski Team

Competed in competitive gymnastics for 6 years up to level 8

Education and Certifications:
Shimona holds a Bachelor's Degree from Cal Poly SLO in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sport Science. They also hold a Personal Training Certification from ISSA and CPR/AED Certification.

Personal Life:
Shimona is originally from Switzerland but raised in California. She currently resides in Cool, Ca on a homestead with her sheep, chickens, and dogs .
