Bio

Coaching Career Overview:
In the Summer of 2021, Blair founded LEAD Athletic Performance, a training facility dedicated to developing top-performing athletes through data-driven training and mentorship.

Since then, he has become one of the most sought after performance coaches in Northern California to help athletes build their athleticism.

As a coach, he has helped NBA, WNBA, G League, NFL, MLB, MiLB, NWSL, and overseas athletes prepare for the season.

As a mentor, Blair has been able to fully explore his passion by teaching coaches how to deliver at a high level, furthering their own career as well as the careers of the athletes they serve.

Blair's coaching philosophy centers on fostering high-level athletic development through data-driven training, meticulous planning, and mentorship. At LEAD and on local high school campuses, he emphasizes the importance of building resilient athletes by combining objective performance metrics with individualized coaching. His approach focuses on instilling qualities represented by LEAD's namesake traits:

  • Leadership: Boldly directing but working collectively towards your team's goals.

  • Effort: Passion-driven effort is the fuel that energizes your team.

  • Attitude: The assertive belief in yourself that no one will outwork you.

  • Dedication: An unwavering commitment to support your team; day in and day out.

Coaching History:

​​Before opening LEAD, Blair headed the strength and performance arm of Touch Shooting in Rancho Cordova, working with high school, college, and overseas basketball players. Concurrently, he served as a strength coach at Optimum Athletes working with high school and Minor League baseball players.

 

Upon moving to Roseville in 2020, Blair worked as a physical therapy aid for Dr. Kirsten Carmichael as well as at a private training gym where he learned biomechanics working with high school athletes and active adults.


Blair began his coaching career in Los Angeles as an intern at Athletic Gaines, a specialized training center that works exclusively with all-star caliber athletes from every major U.S. sports league. He also served as a basketball skills coach at Sport Academy, one of the world’s meccas of sports performance training.

Prior to coaching, Blair was a four year letter winner, graduating from El Camino Real High School in LA, winning a section championship and earning All-League and All-Section team selections.

​

After high school, he played for the University of Winnipeg on scholarship from 2014-2015 before transferring to Cal State Northridge as a walk-on. He would eventually earn another full-ride, athletic scholarship at CSUN as well as a degree in Kinesiology in 2019.

​

He finished his career playing professionally in Guangzhou, China in 2020.

​

Education and Certifications:
Blair holds a Bachelor's Degree from Cal State Northridge in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sports Studies.

He holds certifications from EXOS (XPS), APCC, NASM (PES), DBC Level 1, and more including AED/CPR.

​

Personal Life:
Blair is a Camarillo, Ca native. He currently resides in Roseville with his wife, Nicolette.
